Our Story
Perfumer Marie Urban Le Febvre and Alexander Urban, both experts in the field of fragrance creation, made their dream come true and founded
Urban Scents in Berlin in 2014.
When Marie and Alexander met for the first time, it was not only love at first sight, it was also the spontaneous familiarity of two people sharing the same passions. The sense of adventure and their passion for flying brought them together and with Urban Scents they have fulfilled the dream of creating their own perfume house.

The know-how and freedom of a French independent perfumer.
Originally from Paris, Marie Urban Le Febvre is an independent perfumer-creator known for her exceptional sense of smell, refined intuition, and distinctive approach to fragrance composition. Her work combines the heritage of classical French perfumery with the creative freedom of independence, resulting in bold, carefully crafted olfactory creations.
After studying chemistry, Marie graduated from the prestigious ISIPCA perfumery school in Versailles in 2000. She began her career at international fragrance houses, including Symrise and Takasago, before founding Urban Scents in Berlin in 2014. In 2023, she established her creative studio and fragrance laboratory in Trieste, where she continues to explore new dimensions of scent creation.
Her fragrances are inspired by the meeting point of French perfumery traditions, contemporary urban culture, and nature. Alongside her own collections, Marie collaborates with brands, museums, and interdisciplinary research projects at the intersection of art, science, and culture.
She also teaches at ISIPCA, is a member of the International Perfumer Creator Association, and serves as both Osmothécaire and Secretary General of the Osmothèque, the world's leading perfume archive.
Outside perfumery, Marie is a private pilot and the author of Risking and Resisting.
Alexander URBAN
Parfumeur – Créateur | Co-Founder
Alexander Urban, originally from Austria, is a true citizen of the world. Having lived and worked in Milan, Paris, Jakarta, Amsterdam, London, New York, Berlin, and Trieste, he has built over 30 years of international experience in the fragrance industry.
After early roles at Estée Lauder, he joined leading fragrance houses including IFF, Givaudan, and Takasago, gaining extensive expertise across the full spectrum of perfumery—from exclusive artistic creations to globally distributed fragrances.
At Urban Scents Creative Studio, Alexander leads B2B development and supports the international growth of client projects.
Beyond his commercial work, he is actively involved in cultural, social, and medical initiatives exploring the power of scent—projects that remain closest to his heart.
